More Mt. Pulag Adventure

Day 1 - February 28, 2013

...After the DENR registration, orientation and some group picture, we headed  for the Babalak Ranger Station. It took us almost 2 hours of drive via a new road (rough road). Along the way, we got the privilege to take some pictures with the local carrot farmers.

We arrived at the Babalak Ranger station just in time for our lunch.

Start trek at 1:30 pm. It should have been approximately 3 hour trek to Camp 2, but it took us more than 4 hours to get there (with our baby steps, hehe). It was freezing cold. We do not have a temperature gauge but I think it was already at 6-7 deg C in the afternoon and abut 3-4 deg C during night time. It was actually reported last January 24, 2013 that the temperature at the summit of  Mt. Pulag reached below Zero degree Celsius over the weekend. Hikers should bring thermal jackets, thermal leggings, warmers, long socks, waterproof trekking shoes, sunscreen and of course CAMERA!.ahaha...You'll miss half of your life if you won't be able to capture every beautiful scenery during the trek and Mt. Pulag's captivating  "sea of clouds" during sunrise at the summit.
